Before we boarded our dive boat – the M/V Bilikiki, Greg and I took a tour of the battle sites on Guadalcanal.
On one morning during our dive trip, we visited on of the local villages on one of the outlying islands. While there, we were graced with the men doing a war dance and the women doing another dance. We toured the village with the chief as well.
Later on the dive trip, we visited two villages where the men did carvings in ebony, kerosene wood and coconut. Almost all of us purchased one (or in some cases, many more) of the carvings.
